BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Jennifer Rosa is a Lyric Coloratura, Collaborator, and Producer originally from the Peoria area and recently returned after having lived in New York City for over a decade.  Her eclectic musical career has taken her from solos at stadiums of major league sports teams to 50 concerts with the Oratorio Society of New York singing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, and more in her decade of Soprano membership. She’s had the joy of performing in ensembles backing James Taylor, YoYo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Renee Fleming, Martin Short, and countless others as well as performing with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center. 

Jennifer has been a soloist/collaborator with various artists and organizations performing in landmark churches (such as the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine) to famed nightclubs (including Irving Plaza) and recording in respected studios (Avatar Studios).  An operatic appearance by Ms. Rosa may also be heard on the Grammy Award winning album “Gravity” by acclaimed rapper Lecrae. 

In addition to performance, Jennifer Rosa is the Co-Founder/Executive Producer of Flat World Productions, a collaborative event, concert, and audio production company she began with her husband and fellow Bradley grad J Scott Hinkley.  Together they created 'ElectriCathedral' and sponsored numerous creative projects throughout New York.

Jennifer Rosa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Business with a Vocal Emphasis (studying voice from Dr. Kerry Walters). While at Bradley she was a member of and frequent soloist in Bradley Chorale, Opera Workshop, and BU Community Choir.  She was also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and Sword of Honor Award recipient.

Upon her recent return to Central Illinois, she has enjoyed singing solos regularly with the Peoria Municipal Band, BU Community Choir, and recording vocal collaborative projects engineered and mastered by her husband in their home studio.

EXTENDED BIOGRAPHY

Jennifer Rosa, an award winning Lyric Coloratura Soprano/Songwriter/Collaborator, has had the privilege of performing in over 15 operas, over 20 oratorios, and has been a soloist at cathedrals in Sweden, Holmens Kirke (The Church of the Royal Family) and The Roskilde Cathedral in Denmark, and the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.  Being comfortable in large public arenas, she also has sung the National Anthem for several sports leagues including the MLB’s Chicago White Sox.  

Jennifer has had the joy of performing dozens of concerts with The Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, singing for Mario Fratti’s (playwright of Broadway's "Nine") “Week of Italian Theatre”, premiering work in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and shooting a TV pilot for Vegas Productions.  

Rosa has been a regularly commissioned soloist/collaborator with various arts organizations such as The Moving Beauty Series throughout NYC and The Quarterly Art Soiree (The QAS) at the landmark Webster Hall.  An operatic appearance by Ms. Rosa may also be heard on acclaimed rapper Lecrae’s Grammy Award winning album, “Gravity”.  She was also the collaborative Classical soloist for NYC rock act, Electric Black (ElectricBlack.net) having recorded at Avatar Studios and performed at such venues as The Fillmore at Irving Plaza, Webster Hall, and Mercury Lounge.

Jennifer's interests range from singing and acting to dancing.  In addition to performance, she has also contributed to the arts as a voice teacher and ballroom dance instructor.  She especially has enjoyed studying Argentine Tango in New York City.  She has gained experience in most styles including Latin and Ballroom, Salsa/Mambo, Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, and Hustle.

At Bradley University, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Music Business and executed various responsibilities in ensembles and organizations. Jennifer held the Head position for 24 Hours of Music, a philanthropy benefiting the Vh-1 Save the Music Foundation.  She also spearheaded new events including the fall concert event, Rocktober Fest, benefiting Vh-1 as well.

Her next move took her to NYC for well over a decade. She kicked off her Manhattan career as a Special Events/Marketing Intern for New York City Opera at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts earning her an award from Bradley University.  She then went on to become the Founder/Producer of Music Forum and The Stoop Concert Series (TheStoopNY.com), which took place at the landmark Church For All Nations in the heart of Manhattan, where she also served as the Events Director.
